Radon Mitigation System Maintenance
If you have a fan powered active system, take the time once per month to
look at your warning device, usually a manometer, to make sure the system is
working correctly. Fans are quiet, and not always within hearing distance.
They may last for five years or more, though manufacturer warranties do
vary. At some point it may need to be repaired or replaced. The cost to
replace a fan varies as it is based on labor and materials.
We
recommend a radon level retest of your home every two years to ensure the
continued efficiency of your radon mitigation system. You will want to
monitor radon levels to ensure they remain low, below 4 pCi/L.
Remember, for your system to provide 24/7 radon reduction service, the fan
must run continuously.
